can’t eat just one

how many clementines do you eat at once?

for me, it’s def no less than 4 and i’m embarrassed to admit just how many i have consumed in one sesh!

i look at it like this – a clementine is about the size of a quarter of a regular orange… kind of. and i can def eat more than one orange at once – hence the times of mass consumption

if you too fall victim to the crate that’s on sale at the food store this time of year, you’re not alone. there are def others out there who go through the crate in less than a week. hellz, why do you think they sell so many to you at one time?!

these tiny, sweet and juicy ‘oranges‘ are actually varieties of the mandarin orange
they’re easy to peel, almost always seedless, and less acidic than oranges
they’re usually grown in Algeria, Spain, morocco, Italy, Israel, Lebanon and Turkey, but most of the ones we eat in the US come from California

they pack about 35 calories per fruit – almost all of it being carbs (those good ones though)
vitamin c
folate
choline
calcium
phosphorus
potassium
and many other nutritional bits of goodness

so next time you’re at the store, pick yourself up a carton whole they’re in season until january. don’t feel bad if you eat half of the box on the way home either :0)
