this weekend we took the pa and ma dukes on a belated father’s day adventure which got brewing when the hubster asked me if i’d ever been to Cowtown

little did i know and soon came to find out, the Cowtown Rodeo is the oldest weekly rodeo in the entire United States – pretty sweet feat huh?! located in Pilesgrove, NJ – a hop skip and a jump from the Philly, NY, and DC areas

2+ hours of entertainment on a Saturday night for a ridiculously inexpensive ticket charge puts this place at the top of my “fun places iv’e been” list… you can bring in your own cooler of goodness or feast on the local garb cooking away

they’re more than just a bull riding kinda place too. included in the night of laughs, oohs and ahhs was bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling (dude got run-ded-over!!), girls barrel racing (check out their bling), team roping and tie down roping

what a culture shock for a chick who’d never been to a rodeo – but what a fun night as well! i’ll have to remember to pick up some cowboy boots and a hat for next time :0)
