>balls & wings

a football watching event is never quite the same without some good ol’ chi’en wings and beers… luckily we have a plethora of both :0)
yuup, thats just the beer fridge in the garage, i stock wayyyy too many condiments for beer to even think about residing in our kitchen!

while the mama was crossing over state lines to meander her way over to our house, i got her crock pot creation started for her:

serves ~24
3 lb. chicken wings
salt and pepper to taste
2 c. honey
1 c. coconut aminos ‘soy’ sauce
1/2 c. ketchup
1/4 c. oil
1/4 c. onion or garlic powder
1 T. parsley
sesame seeds (optional)

1. Rinse chicken and pat dry. Cut off and discard wing tips. Cut each wing at joint to make two sections.

2. Sprinkle wing parts with salt and pepper.

3. Place wings on broiler pan. Broil 4-5″ from the heat for 20 minutes, 10 minutes a side until the chicken is brown, then transfer chicken to crock pot.
 4. Mix in seperate bowl the honey, ‘soy’ sauce, ketchup, oil, onion/garlic powder and parsely.
J: does Buddy like honey? M: uhhh, i guess he does!
 5. Pour over the chicken wings. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-2 1/2 hours.

6. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.

off to watch some ball… i mean commercials and the halftime show, who am i kidding!
