>the morning after

a show of hands – who is sore today from shoveling all of that snow?!?!

man, i should have flagged this guy down yesterday to lend a hand, or a wing… aww shucks i guess i missed that once in a lifetime opportunity

wait a second, this could totally be my older brother. hey B, is that you?!

so, if you’re feeling a little bit o’ sore and looking for something other than the standard ibuprofen and bloody mary’s to do the trick, try out some of these great aromatherapy holistic remedies

best essential oils for muscle pain, stiffness and tightness:
basil, benzoin, cedarwood, chamomile, cinnamon, clary sage, coriander, cypress, eucalyptus, ginger, hydrangea, jasmine, juniper, lavender, marjoram, oregano, palmarosa, pepper, peppermint, rose, rosemary, st. john’s wort, thyme, vetiver, ylang ylang

crazi concoctions you can make:
use in a bath with 2 cups of epsom salts, or use as a massage blend diluted with a carrier oil

relaxing: 2 drops lavender, 1 drop benzoin, 1 drop marjoram
good for stress-related pain
energizing: 2 drops eucalyptus, 1 drop palmarosa, 1 drop peppermint
good for pain and stuffiness
warming: 2 drops benzoin, 1 drop chamomile, 1 drop pepper
good for stress-related pain
spicy: 2 drops coriander, 1 drop ginger, 1 drop jasmine or ylang ylang
ood for pain and nausea
feel good: 6 drops rosemary, 5 drops juniper, 3 drops lavender
good for aches and pains.

epsom salt is particularly good because its mineral content reduces muscle pain and inflammation, helps muscles and nerves to function properly, and sedates the nervous system. perfecto! just what the dr. ordered :0)

and with that, i’m off to day dream about which concoction i’ll be putting together tonight, mmmm – decisions, decisions
